ELIZALDE school: Transpatio

Ibon Mendoza, a teacher at ELIZALDE BHI in Oiartzun, presented a project called Transpatio at the Feminist Pedagogy Congress organized by the Ikertze group. The aim of this project is to transform the unequal relations that occur in the school playground. To do so, they created a working group made up of the school’s pupils’ families, teachers and educators from Tabakalera, the entity that financed the project. The project aimed to transform the school playground into a transgender and transgenerational playground, thus functioning as a transit route to a new space. Although the project has focused on making a physical change to the place, the main objective of the project has been to create a space that generates new relationships between students free of inequalities.
